In our concern for the customer we never neglect the environment. Our products are environmentally friendly, special attention is dedicated to selection of materials and technological processes which do not pollute the environment.

Our care for environmentally acceptable and safe production is verified also by ISO 14001:2004 and by the right to use logo POR.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

MITOL began to aware of the environment importance earlier than a majority of companies. The protection of living environment is an essential condition for a healthy and sustained evolution.

In the past, we decided to introduce the policy of managing the environment into the overall development policy of the joint-stock company. However, this was not done only by a declaratory statement, but also by an array of objectives executed that introduced the study of effects on the environment, investments, training and helped MITOL to achieve such a development level ensuring its existence also in years to come. The ISO 14 001 was selected as a working tool in the area of environment. On the basis of this system, we carried out the environmental policy as to provide for necessary activities to ensuring an ongoing reduction and prevention of the environment pollution, by respecting and implementing legal and other requirements, and through introducing the significant environmental elements into our development and annual plans. In order to ensure continuous improving of the environment situation, we trained our principal staff involved in significant environmental aspects as well as we raised the environmental awareness of all employees and other persons acting on behalf of the company. Nowadays, we also perform these activities and we will also continue doing so in the future, as the environmental story is a never ending story. The improvements are always possible.

All this time we have been focused on one objective – to obtain the IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) environmental licence. This was carried out in 2008.

• MITOL has also joined the »Clean production« Project, the joint project of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Environment that consolidates the environmental actions.

• Our responsibility is also shown by the right to use the logo “Responsible care – odgovorno ravnanje” and the Report is drawn in accordance with the methodology of the European Association of Chemical Industry. In 1984 “Responsible care” began in Canada, nowadays it is carried out in more than 50 countries.

MITOL’s positive attitude towards the environment will remain constant. However, we followed the path of great investments, always aimed at obtaining a long-term competitive advantage, such as existence of company also in the years to come, when a general awareness of healthy environment would make a greater pressure to the management of companies. Nowadays, a greater emphasis will be placed on economy effectiveness. There are still some reserves in the improvement of energy efficiency, waste reduction, and optimization of processes.

The company’s responsibility, which also encompasses the responsibility to the environment, is a wide notion. Being a competitive company is the highest level of the company’s responsibility.
And we wish to maintain this position when the competitive environment aggravates.
