REACH, the new EU regulation on chemicals and their safe use came into force on 1st June 2007. One year later, starting on 1st June 2008, a 6-month pre-registration period has begun.

As MITOL plays two different roles in supply chain, also our activities take place in two different spheres:

1. As a producer (manufacturer):
MITOL produces dispersion polymers under trade name MEKOLIT. According to REACH definition polymers are exempted from pre-registration and registration is not needed.

2. As a downstream user (customer):
Our products (MEKOL, MEKOLIT, PARKETOLIT, CIANOKOL, EPOKOL, TERMOKOL, MITOPUR, MITOSIL, MITOFLEKS, UROKOL, MITOSOL and the others) contain input materials (substances / preparations) supplied by other manufacturers. In this period we run an intensive correspondence with our suppliers to ensure that all our raw materials will be pre-registered and covered by REACH. After the pre-registration period only materials in conformity with REACH will be used in our production (pre-registered by manufacturer / importer).

The pre-registration process includes also monomers and other reactants used in our production of polymers.

According to actual portfolio analysis and assurances we have got from our suppliers, we are convinced that all input materials and substances used in our production will be pre-registered according to REACH regulations.

Considering the above written we do not anticipate any disruptions of product supplies to our customers. If any uncertainty may appear, we will inform our customers immediately.
